An independent fire and building safety consultancy is seeking a highly capable Associate Fire Engineer to lead and expand their fire engineering function in Manchester. The successful candidate will join a respected and collaborative firm, delivering expert solutions across commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments, while supporting clients through design, construction, and compliance stages.The Associate Fire Engineer's RoleThe Associate Fire Engineer will lead the delivery of complex fire engineering strategies and provide high-level technical input into building design, risk management, and regulatory compliance. Operating across RIBA stages 2-6, the role will include:Managing a portfolio of large-scale projects across the North West and beyondLeading fire strategy development and sign-off processesProviding oversight on CFD modelling, evacuation analysis, and smoke controlSupporting client relationships and new business activityMentoring and reviewing work from junior and mid-level engineersEngaging with Building Control, fire services, and design teamsThe Associate Fire EngineerChartered or near-chartered (CEng or MIFireE) Fire EngineerMinimum 6 years' consultancy experienceProven track record managing complex fire strategies across various sectorsStrong technical understanding of BS 9991, BS 9999, ADB, and fire engineering principlesTeam leadership or line management experience (desirable)Based in or around Greater Manchester, with flexibility for occasional site travelIn Return£80,000 - £90,000Performance-based bonus schemeHybrid/flexible working arrangementPrivate medical, enhanced pension, and leaveStructured progression to Technical DirectorTraining budget and support for CPD/chartership mentoringIf you're an Associate Fire Engineer looking to grow your career, please contact Lauryn Simpson at Brandon James.
