What you’ll do

  • You’ll lead the design process across all project stages, from concept to completion. Working closely with Project Managers and multidisciplinary teams, you’ll ensure projects are delivered to programme, budget, and quality expectations. Key responsibilities include:
  • Supporting project setup and planning, identifying resource needs and technical requirements.
  • Leading design teams and acting as Technical Lead on key projects.
  • Overseeing stakeholder engagement and design risk assessments.
  • Ensuring compliance with CDM and quality standards.
  • Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to team development.

What you bring to the role

  • Strong design leadership in water infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of civil engineering design, hydraulics, and multidisciplinary coordination.
  • Experience managing technical delivery and working closely with clients and contractors.
  • A passion for innovation and delivering sustainable solutions.

Qualifications

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering.
  • Chartered Engineer Status, or approaching chartered status.
  • Experience in the full cycle of project design delivery from inception to detailed design.
  • Significant experience leading major water and drainage infrastructure engineering projects.
  • Flexible to travel to other AECOM and client offices.
