Associate Mechanical Engineer - Education Group

RPS is currently seeking an Associate Mechanical Engineer for the Education Group at either the Birmingham or Manchester office, with hybrid working options.

About The Design Business: RPS Design Division delivers projects across sectors including residential, logistics, retail, aviation, healthcare, education, and more. We focus on balancing sustainability, materiality, cost, and constructability, leveraging digitalisation to enhance project delivery from concept to completion.

What you’ll be doing:

• Support and lead education projects.
• Collaborate with the Education Lead.
• Lead a team of engineers, energy modellers, and BIM technicians from concept design through RIBA Stage 3.
• Manage projects through final contractor proposal and construction stages.
• Develop design and modelling processes aligned with DfE requirements.

Who we’re looking for:

• Experience in client engagement and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Financial management skills to deliver projects within budget and KPIs.
• Resource management capabilities.

Additionally, you will:

• Support architects and energy modellers in project modelling requirements.
• Coordinate with BIM team to meet project deadlines.
• Challenge design solutions for optimal outcomes.
• Contribute to education sector development and business initiatives.
