About the Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Associate Mechanical Engineer to join a leading building services consultancy based in Central London. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Associate Mechanical Engineer to take ownership of mechanical design across a variety of high-profile projects.


As an Associate Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for developing innovative mechanical solutions, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and client expectations. You will also support junior engineers and contribute to the overall technical leadership of the team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical design on multiple projects as an Associate Mechanical Engineer, ensuring integration with other disciplines.
  • Produce concept designs, calculations, specifications, and technical schedules.
  • Attend client meetings, site visits, and design team workshops as the project’s Associate Mechanical Engineer.
  • Liaise with suppliers and utility providers to ensure technical compliance.
  • Ensure all designs meet relevant building regulations, British Standards, and CIBSE guidelines.
  • Mentor junior engineers and delegate tasks effectively in your role as an Associate Mechanical Engineer.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to maintain design consistency and share technical knowledge.



Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in mechanical building services design.
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field.
  • Working towards chartership with CIBSE, IMechE, or IET.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and familiar with BIM tools such as Revit.
  • Strong understanding of sustainability, environmental design, and construction processes.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, essential for an Associate Mechanical Engineer.



Desirable

  • Experience managing project finances and resources.
  • Business development skills and ability to foster client relationships as an Associate Mechanical Engineer.
