We’re looking for an Associate Mechanical Engineer to join the Building Environments team of a world-class, multi-disciplinary engineering practice in Manchester.
This is an opportunity for a building services specialist to lead cutting-edge MEP projects, shape industry-leading designs, and collaborate across disciplines on some of the most ambitious developments in the UK and internationally.
The Role
As Associate Mechanical Engineer, you’ll:
* Take a lead role in delivering projects across the UK, and the Middle East – from high-end residential and mixed-use developments to research facilities, leisure schemes, and refurbishments.
* Guide and mentor engineers and technicians, ensuring technical excellence and innovation across the mechanical team.
* Build and strengthen client relationships, offering design-led solutions and managing expectations.
* Oversee technical specifications, project finances, and resourcing to ensure efficient delivery.
* Contribute to business development by preparing proposals and supporting bids.
You’ll work closely with a UK MEP team of 125+ specialists, as well as experts in sustainability, building physics, fire, facades, lighting, and technology. This is a chance to push the boundaries of sustainable design while being part of a CIBSE award-winning team renowned for delivering outstanding building performance.
About You
We’re looking for a versatile engineer with:
* Significant mechanical design experience within MEP consultancy, including acting as project leader.
* Strong sector experience, ideally with exposure to large-scale and international projects.
* A relevant engineering degree (BEng/BSc or MEng/MSc).
* Professional registration (CIBSE, IMechE, or equivalent).
* Excellent communication and client-facing skills, with the ability to manage, mentor, and inspire.
* A collaborative mindset and a strong grasp of multidisciplinary design.
