We are seeking a versatile Technical Support & Installation Engineer to join our tech team. This role combines office-based technical support, hands-on equipment setup, and on-site commissioning, providing a key link between our customers and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide first-line and desk-based technical support for both internal engineers and external clients, resolving issues across IPTV, AV, signage, content systems.
Configure, deploy, and commission interactive TV / IPTV / in-room entertainment systems in hospitality venues, integrating with guest UI and system interfaces.
Work with digital signage systems and LED video walls, including setup, calibration, maintenance, repair, and pixel-level repairs via fine soldering.
Assist with TV distribution systems, satellite / fibre / SMATV / MATV / VSAT systems as may be required in client sites.
Support aftercare and maintenance contracts - fielding service calls, performing rapid turnaround repairs, and working to SLA expectations (e.g. 4-hour response).
Liaise with content / design team to assist with content deployment, UI updates, or diagnostics for content platforms.
Assist with the design, planning, and integration of systems for new installations (AV systems, cabling, networking, control systems).
Mentor / upskill junior engineers in best practices, troubleshooting, and new technologies.
Perform on-site work including travel, commissioning, testing, client handovers, and client training.
Essential Skills & Experience:
IP Networking & VLANs: ability to configure switches, VLANs, IP routing, QoS as needed for IPTV, streaming, signage, etc.
IPTV / Hotel In-Room Systems Experience: having worked with hotel guest TV systems, media casting, content interfaces, or similar hospitality IPTV.
LED / Digital Signage / Video Wall proficiency: installation, calibration, repair, maintenance of LED panels and video walls.
Soldering & Fine Electronics Repair: pixel repair, board-level soldering for LED modules and fine boards.
TV Distribution / Satellite / Fibre / SMATV / MATV / VSAT experience: knowledge of distribution systems common in large installations.
AV / Control Systems / Integration: experience with AV signal switching, control protocols (e.g. HDBaseT, HDMI matrixes, control processors).
Content / Media / UI Systems Awareness: ability to work with content platforms, diagnose content delivery issues, liaise with design teams.
Strong troubleshooting skills, methodical documentation, and client-facing ability.
Willingness to travel nationally, sometimes with overnight stays.
