Who Will You Work With:

Our client is a major player in the digital technology space, focusing on delivering high-performance, scalable applications within a cloud-native environment. You'll join a collaborative engineering team that works on next-generation cloud applications using modern frameworks and AWS technologies.

About the Role:

As an Automation QA Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated test frameworks to ensure the reliability and performance of event-driven cloud applications. You will work closely with development and DevOps teams to test applications that leverage AWS services such as Lambda, EventBridge, and SQS.

This is a hybrid role requiring days per week onsite in London, UK. The initial contract duration is – months, with a strong possibility of extension.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain automated test cases using Java and Spring Boot frameworks.

  • Design test strategies for AWS-based services including Lambda functions, EventBridge, SQS, and event mappers.

  • Support behavior-driven development (BDD); knowledge of Cucumber is a plus.

  • Implement automated testing for event-driven architectures and microservices.

  • Validate message flows using AWS SQS and Kinesis Streams.

  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure seamless CI/CD and deployment.

  • Log, track, and manage bugs and ensure test coverage and quality standards are met.

  • Preferred Skills:

  • Proven experience in automation testing, particularly with Java and Spring Boot.

  • Hands-on experience with AWS services like Lambda, EventBridge, SQS, and Kinesis.

  • Familiarity with supporting AWS technologies such as DynamoDB, API Gateway, and CloudFormation.

  • Knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python for scripting and automation.

  • Experience working within CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

  • BDD experience and tools such as Cucumber are advantageous.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
