Overview
Responsible for driving new business in industrial automation, including edge solutions and PLC/HMI/SCADA knowledge. Field-based role working with distribution partners and internal teams to deliver technically tailored system solutions to a high-value client base.
Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new opportunities in the defined territory, working independently in the field and with distribution partners.
- Collaborate with sales team members, product specialists and international colleagues to deliver a wide range of automation products and solutions.
- Engage clients face-to-face, delivering technically tailored system solutions and achieving sales targets for the product line.
- Support other team members with knowledge and expertise; maintain a strong team mentality.
- Communicate effectively with customers and internal stakeholders; contribute to strategic sales efforts.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in industrial automation and edge solution sales.
- Degree/HNC/HND or equivalent technical qualification.
- Understanding of automation architectures, PLC programming languages (IEC61131-3, Codesys desirable).
- Knowledge of visualization tools, SCADA, and Industrial Ethernet in modern control networks.
- Open platform/protocol awareness (e.g., Web technologies, OPC UA, Docker, Node-RED, MQTT).
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills; highly self-motivated and disciplined.
- Willingness to travel; home-based with good access to major road networks.
Desirable Attributes
- Ability to influence decision makers and demonstrate market knowledge; proven sales track record in industrial control and automation.
- Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office).
Benefits & Additional Information
Salary: GBP 55,000 - GBP 65,000 (negotiable DOE) plus OTE, car or allowance, private medical and dental, life assurance, pension. 25 days holiday. Field-based role.
