Job Role:
The Contractor Engineer is required to undertake a role within the Aircraft Systems Design Team of our client’s Airborne ISR business, supporting aircraft projects. The work shall be performed under both civil and military regulatory environments. The successful candidate will report into the System Engineering team.
The work to be undertaken is to collate, acquire and log design data and product conformity to enable successful test and certification of a wide range of aircraft modifications. Examples include aircraft system configuration states, weight analysis, flammability test reporting and evidencing equipment declarations and production of certification letters.
This role is suited to an aircraft Avionic and/or Electrical Systems Engineer with experience in the integration and certification of aircraft avionic & electrical systems within an aerospace environment. A high level of attention to detail is required. The role can be tasked based and therefore it may be performed remotely or at our on-site offices with flexible hours of work.
Key Responsibilities
Liaise with modification Design Engineers to support the production of modification documentation.
Identifying, collating and referencing design data through the project Windchill Product Data Management (PDM) tool and network files.
Producing certification evidence forms and letters to allow modifications to be submitted for Certification Validation Engineer (CVE) approval.
Production of test documentation and other analyses/ reports.
Production of modification control documentation.
Key Attributes:
Essential:
Experience as an Avionic and/or Electrical Systems Engineer involving design, integration and certification of aircraft avionic & electrical systems within an aerospace design organisation.
Understanding and experience of working to initial airworthiness regulations – e.g. FAA or EASA regulations: FAR 23, FAR 25, CS 23, CS 25, etc.
Experience of working within a multi-discipline engineering team within the aerospace industry.
UK , no dual and holder of current SC security clearance (eligible to transfer)
Desirable:
Knowledge of military aircraft modification and certification processes e.g. DAOS, application of DEF-STAN.
Use of electrical/wiring design tools and wiring diagram creation e.g. AutoCAD
