Overview

The objective of our Azure DevOps Engineer is to support the automation and optimization of our development and production environments on the Microsoft Azure platform. This will include migrating from Azure DevOps on-premises GitLab and SVN. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing scalable cloud infrastructure, building CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of deployments and operation.

Responsibilities

  • Support the automation and optimization of development and production environments on the Microsoft Azure platform.
  • Migrate from Azure DevOps on-premises GitLab and SVN.
  • Implement scalable cloud infrastructure, build CI/CD pipelines, and ensure reliability, security, and performance of deployments and operations.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience with Azure DevOps (Repos, Pipelines, Boards, Artifacts)
  • Strong expertise in Azure services and architecture (ARM templates, Azure AD, VNets, NSGs, etc.)
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates
  • Solid understanding of containerization and orchestration (Docker, AKS/Kubernetes)
  • Proficiency in scripting with VS Code, PowerShell and/or Bash
  • Knowledge of Git version control and branching strategies (GitFlow, trunk-based)
  • Experience with monitoring and logging solutions within Azure
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert or equivalent Azure certifications
  • Familiarity with application security, cloud governance, and compliance (e.g., ISO, SOC 2)
  • Experience in .NET environments is a plus
  • NPM and 3rd party binary management and securing use
  • Knowledge of networking, DNS, firewalls, and VPNs in Azure

Salary and Benefits

  • Salary for this position is £56,800 to £71,000; depending on experience plus our excellent flexible benefits package.
  • Hybrid working - for this role ideally we are looking for an average of 2 days per week per month on site.
  • A compressed nine-day fortnight and compressed hours — every other Friday off.
