To fuel that growth, we need a Backend Engineer to join our dynamic teams. This team is the beating heart of Prima. You’ll be joining over 200 engineers across software development, infrastructure, operations and security, and help deliver scalable, impactful solutions that shape the future of insurance.

What You’ll Do

  • Architect and develop reusable code, promote code modularity, and ensure maintainability.
  • Design, develop, and maintain services with a focus on consistency, scalability, and adherence to industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into effective, scalable backend solutions.
  • Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and enforce coding standards to maintain quality and consistency.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, advancements, tools, and frameworks, and drive their adoption when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering managers to define project timelines, estimate effort, and ensure successful delivery.
  • Troubleshoot and debug complex issues to ensure optimal performance and timely resolution, with a backend focus.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and growth within the team, mentoring junior engineers or contributing to team culture.

What We’re Looking For

  • Extensive experience in backend development.
  • Strong English communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Good knowledge of event-driven architecture, microservices, and domain-driven design.
  • Enthusiasm for trying new technologies and helping other developers grow.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with strong problem-solving skills and accountability for deliverables.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.

Nice-to-Have

  • Good knowledge of functional programming languages.
  • Professional experience with at least one of Rust or Elixir.
  • Knowledge of TDD.
  • Knowledge of RabbitMQ/Kafka.
