AI Engineering at Capital on Tap We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer who is passionate about moving into the AI space to join our AI Engineering team to help build the best credit card and payment products for small businesses. The AI Engineering team is tasked with delivering AI-enabled products, both customer-facing and internal. It currently consists of 2 AI engineers, and we are looking for software engineers to join the team. This is a unique opportunity for a skilled C# engineer to transition into AI.

What You\'ll Be Doing You will work alongside our existing AI Engineers. Your role will be to help deliver fully-productionised AI-assisted systems, such as a customer-facing chatbot. You will own the software development lifecycle, partner with Product Managers, and troubleshoot issues. Your responsibilities will include:

• Work with the AI Engineers on building and maintaining AI products (Python and C#), from building robust services to ensuring their deployment and maintenance
• Collaborate with other engineering teams to integrate with internal systems and provide data to AI systems via REST APIs
• Lead automated testing of AI systems to ensure reliability in production
• Work with Platform teams to ensure infrastructure adheres to best practices
• Enable AI Engineers to deliver rapidly by ensuring systems are scalable, reliable and safe

We\'re Looking For

Required skills:

• Minimum 3-4 years of C# experience
• Track record of delivering systems into production
• Strong understanding of automated testing
• Willingness to learn Python (Python knowledge is a bonus but not required)
• Willingness to learn how to deliver products that interact heavily with LLMs

Nice to have skills:

• Python knowledge

Other tools we use (knowledge not required):

• Pydantic AI, Azure Doc Intelligence, Langchain/Langgraph, LlamaIndex

Interview Process

• First stage: 30-minute intro, CV review, and values with Talent Partner
• Second stage: 45-minute “Tech Chat” with Team Manager
• Final stage: 90-minute Code Pairing + 30-minute Values Interview
