Backend Software Engineer / Developer (Linux SQL C++17) London / WFH to £110k

Global-leading FinTech is seeking a senior Backend Software Engineer to own strategic enhancements on the core platform and bespoke client projects. The organisation works in cross-asset securities and derivatives post-trade processing technology, delivering secure and scalable solutions for peak operational efficiency and optimum business performance. This role offers autonomy across the full development lifecycle and the opportunity to collaborate with a highly skilled team.

Location / WFH

London office three days a week with flexibility to work from home the other two days.

Responsibilities

• Design and build technical solutions that meet user requirements and contribute to the evolution of the platform.
• Take ownership of strategic enhancements on the core platform and on bespoke client projects.
• Collaborate with a cross-functional, experienced team and influence key technical decisions.

Qualifications

• Strong C++ development experience on Linux or UNIX, C++14 and above.
• Good SQL skills.
• Passionate technologist motivated by cutting-edge systems and solving complex problems.
• Positive, proactive team member who works well in a collaborative environment.
• Strong knowledge of software engineering best practices.
• Degree educated, achieving a 2.1 or above in a STEM discipline.
• Ideally experience in financial services or trading, though technical skills are of greater importance.
