About The Role
Our Balfour Beatty Highways business has a terrific opportunity for a BIM Engineer to join our £1.2 billion Lower Thames Crossing project, consisting of 43 bridges, including viaducts, 17km of complex Highways construction, complex utility diversions, and a scheme-wide, industry leading approach to carbon reduction.

The BIM Engineer will support the BIM Manager in delivering the Project Digital Strategy, Information Execution Plan, Master Information Delivery Plan, Digital Standards, Methods and Procedures.
What you’ll be doing
- Production of 2D/3D/4D/5D models.
- Document, embed and feedback on the success of the Project Digital Strategy.
- Share resulting Good Practice with the wider digital community via your Digital Lead.
- 80% Embedding digital process, 20% Analysis and documentation of process BIM Scope (all BIM projects).
- Responsible for creating, updating and maintaining accurate project information in the Common Data Environment.
- Responsible for creating, updating and maintaining building information models where required.
- Comply with role scope for relevant accreditation i.e. ISO19650 Task Information Manager.
- Ensuring the Task Team has the capability to produce information in accordance with the Project SMP.
- Assuring (pass/fail) that the information produced by the Task Team is compliant with the Project SMP (prior to being shared).
- Providing education and support to Information Authors with respect to the Project SMP.
- Identifying and escalating risks associated to the production of the Project Information Model.
Who we’re looking for
- Understanding ISO19650 standards and Protocols.
- Support the project time in the delivery of the graphical model and drawings graphical and non-graphical data in line with the BEP.
- Developing the
- Working Knowledge of Project CDE Environment.
