How you will make Plan Zero happen: Mitie Controls is a leading supplier of BMS services and solutions in the UK and has established partner relationships with leading BMS manufacturers. The team maintains existing BMS installations, delivers upgrade and new installations, and focuses on maintaining comfortable conditions for building users, efficient HVAC asset performance and reducing energy usage. We use data from BMS, metering and other sources to underpin our approach as a technical leader in BMS operations in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Own the business development lifecycle with Mitie clients, secure and exceed sales targets for new BMS and Plan Zero works.
  • Grow the operation by taking responsibility for key clients and helping them deliver their Plan Zero strategies, establishing a strong pipeline of BMS and Net Zero opportunities.
  • Serve as a conduit between client and operation delivery teams to ensure projects are designed accurately and to high standards for secure and profitable delivery.
  • Proactively build strong, honest client relationships to sustain ongoing investment in their BMS and Plan Zero pathways.
  • Explore new technologies with BMS and metering solutions to drive toward Digital Maintenance solutions.

What you will do day to day

  • Interact extensively with Mitie contract leads and end clients to deliver successful outcomes.
  • Collaborate with BMS and Plan Zero operations to deliver joined-up solutions achieving Net Zero Pathways.
  • Carry out regular site visits to survey and evaluate suitable BMS solutions meeting client requirements.
  • Support tenders, tender interviews and submissions, articulating the proposed solution clearly to gain trust as a valued supplier.
  • Work with the dept Head of Operation to deliver growth strategies with improved margins and profitability.
  • Be a proactive team player, interacting with project and support teams to enhance quoting and tendering processes.
  • Provide technical solutions, detailed proposals, and accurate costings for BMS and energy-related projects.
  • Manage Salesforce for owned opportunities, updating status and providing accurate sales forecasts.
  • Provide technical support on new innovative solutions that showcase new technologies and integration opportunities.

Experience & Skills

  • Extensive knowledge and experience of BMS, primarily Trend, Tridium, Distech and Priva.
  • Experience in a sales and business development role or a technical engineering background with a desire to succeed in this type of role.
  • Commercially able to make good business judgments; motivated with strong cross-functional relationships.
  • Customer-focused with a solution-oriented approach. Willing to learn and strive for excellence in delivery.
  • Understanding of Modbus and BACnet integration.
  • Ability to create optimized strategies from scratch; excellent communicator and collaborative team player.
