Job Description

As a Business Systems Applications AI Engineer, you will drive team efficiency through AI automation and integrate third-party AI solutions, ensuring robust operations and governance for all AI applications.

The Business Systems Solutions (BSS) department leverages innovative technologies to deliver bespoke third-party solutions that enhance operational efficiency, scalability and sustainability across the Business.

This role is pivotal in ensuring the Business leverages AI to drive innovation, optimise processes, enhance customer experiences, and improve operational efficiency.

You will evaluate, securely integrate, and manage AI capabilities, ensuring all external AI solutions complement the existing in-house AI development efforts. You will ensure the team is equipped with the best AI tools and practices to enhance productivity and increase internal process automation.

This role is eligible for inclusion in the Company’s hybrid working from home policy.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrable experience in evaluating, integrating, and managing third-party AI solutions and vendor platforms.
  • Strong understanding of MLOps principles and practices for managing AI model lifecycles in production.
  • Expertise in AI governance, ethical AI principles, bias mitigation, and data privacy regulations relevant to AI.
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms, such as Azure, AWS, and GCP, and their associated AI/ML services, particularly in the context of integration and operations. Relevant certifications in these fields would be advantageous.
  • Experience with AI-powered productivity tools for software engineering, such as AI code assistants and automated testing tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on diagnosing and resolving complex operational and integration issues for AI systems.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, third-party vendors, and Business stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with defining and managing Service Level Agreements for diverse technology services, including AI.
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools for managing infrastructure and AI workflows.

  • Driving internal team efficiency by identifying and implementing AI-driven productivity tools and automation for workflows.
  • Evaluating, integrating, and managing third-party AI solutions and vendor platforms into the Business’s application ecosystem.
  • Developing and enforcing comprehensive AI governance frameworks, policies, and standards for all AI initiatives, including third-party integrations.
  • Overseeing the technical lifecycle and operational performance of third-party AI solutions.
  • Implementing integrated incident response procedures for AI-related issues across all AI deployments.
  • Monitoring and analysing the performance of all AI systems, identifying bottlenecks and optimising for efficiency and reliability.
  • Providing technical guidance and mentorship to the team on AI operational best practices and integration strategies.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders and vendors to ensure seamless integration and effective governance of AI solutions.
