Business Systems Engineer – Engineering Systems

CDE Group is seeking a Business Systems Engineer focused on Engineering systems to join the IT team in Northern Ireland.
The successful candidate will manage, support, develop, configure, and test CDE's Engineering Systems, driving business improvements through projects and ensuring system uptime.
About The Role
The role involves day-to-day support of CDE's Engineering systems environment, user training, daily and weekly housekeeping tasks, and application security management.
- Day-to-day support of CDE's Engineering systems environment
- Ensure users follow best practice and provide user training on applications
- Running daily, weekly, and monthly housekeeping tasks and checks on all Engineering systems
- Manage application security for all engineering applications
- Proactively maintain CDE's engineering systems for redundant data, potential problems, and performance issues
- Take responsibility of CDE's Engineering Systems patching cycles
- Provide a layer of escalation for complex application issues for the Service Desk team
- Contribute to and lead business improvement projects
- Liaise between users and support partners to investigate and resolve application issues
- Play a key role in the overall uptime of CDE's engineering systems
- Help drive the development of the IoT platform for Digital Factory and customer applications
- Provide onsite support at office and factory locations
- Occasionally provide Out of Hours support when required
Required Criteria
- 2.1 or above Computing or Engineering related degree or 2+ years of relevant experience
- Experience working in similar engineering systems support role with responsibility for business improvement projects
- Demonstrable experience supporting PLM engineering and nesting applications
- Experience in providing user application training
- Knowledge of Microsoft systems and change management
- Demonstrable experience working in a team
- Demonstrate a customer-first approach
- Exceptional Customer Service skills
- Demonstrable problem-solving skills
- Able to work well as part of a team and under own initiative
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Able to manage their own workload
- Personal resilience and be skilled at working in challenging situations

- Willing to undertake travel, work overtime, and weekends if required
Desired Criteria
- Knowledge of Teamcenter PLM, Solid Edge, E-plan, and SigmaNest applications
- Experience of using a reporting tool such as PowerBI
- Experience of integrating PLM with IFS ERP or equivalent
- Working in an ITIL environment
- Working in the manufacturing industry
