C++ Engineer – Elite Market Access Team

You’ll drive the development of ultra-low-latency trading gateways and market data handlers that power seamless connectivity to global exchanges and brokers. You’ll take full ownership of crucial exchange upgrades and broker onboardings, collaborating directly with traders, quants, risk officers, and key external partners to push the boundaries of trading technology.
The role
- Join the Market Access team to build and enhance systems powering the firm’s trading operations across all markets and asset classes.
- Take ownership of trading gateways and market data handlers, including design, development, validation, deployment, and production support.
- Lead exchange upgrades and broker onboarding projects, conducting gap analysis, development, and validation/certifications, with frequent interactions with external exchanges, brokers, and third-party providers.
- Work on low-latency aspects of the systems to optimise performance at scale.
- Collaborate closely with quantitative analysts, developers, traders, operations, risk, compliance, and IT teams across the firm.
- Gain exposure to upstream and downstream systems, contributing to the full trading technology stack.
The ideal candidate
- Exceptional professional experience with modern C++ on Linux.
- Proficient in Python and bash scripting.
- Experience designing and implementing multithreaded and distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience with exchange trading gateways and/or market data feed handlers.
- Familiarity with FIX protocol is advantageous.
- Knowledge of financial products is desirable.
- Experience in low-latency optimisation and performance tuning is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
