Cable Engineer 1-year contract St Austell, Cornwall (with travel elsewhere as required) £500 - £550 / day - Inside IR35 A Cable Engineer is required to join a design consultancy working on a 1-year contract in Cornwall on either Northern Power Grid or Greater Grid Projects. As a Cable Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing cable systems for power distribution and transmission, including the selection of cables, connectors, and installation methods, creating detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and design documentation using AutoCAD and CableCAD, conducting site surveys and assessments, performing technical calculations and analysis, ensuring designs are compliant, reviewing and approving design modifications, providing support during installations and quality checking throughout installations. The successful candidate will be degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering (or equivalent), have experience designing, manufacturing and testing HV cables for use in HVAC, have the capability to fulfil a role as a cable expert, and be willing to travel as required.
