CAD Engineer Location: Newcastle-under-Lyme Division: R&D Type: Full-Time, Permanent
The Role We're looking for a CAD Engineer to join a leading manufacturer at their state-of-the-art facility in Newcastle-under-Lyme. In this role, you’ll be responsible for producing accurate 3D CAD drawings for both standard and bespoke products, supporting new product development, engineering changes, and daily order processing. This is a hands-on role working across departments including production, quality, sales, and R&D, with a strong focus on design accuracy, manufacturability, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities Create detailed 3D CAD drawings for bespoke and standard products Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and engineering change processes Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver practical, cost-effective solutions Maintain accurate records, revisions, and document control Contribute to improving drawing standards, design workflows, and product quality
What You’ll Need Experience in a CAD design/engineering role (manufacturing or construction) Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor) Ability to interpret technical specs and customer requirements Attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a collaborative approach DriveWorks knowledge (desirable)
