About The JobJoin to apply for the Central Heating Engineer role at Luton Borough Council.Hours per week: 37. Contract type: Permanent. Salary: £36,363 - £39,152 a year plus £739.50 tool allowance a year.We’re looking for a highly motivated Central Heating Engineer to deliver a comprehensive range of central heating works, from diagnostics and repairs to full refurbishments. You’ll also undertake site surveys, prepare material lists, and ensure projects are completed on time, to specification, and within budget. You will work as part of Luton Council’s dedicated Property Maintenance team to keep homes safe, warm, and well-maintained for our tenants and residents.Your Expertise Will CoverDiagnosing and resolving central heating faults.Carrying out day-to-day maintenance and refurbishment work.Working from drawings, specifications, and schedules of rates.Planning and prioritising workloads to meet deadlines.Ensuring safe working practices and compliance with Health & Safety, RIDDOR, and Transco regulations.About YouHolds an Advanced central heating apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3) OR Basic plumbing/central heating apprenticeship (NVQ Level 2 / City & Guilds) plus A.C.S.
