CFD Engineer Location: Birmingham Orion is hiring a CFD Engineer to join our client's innovative engineering team, specializing in fluid system design. Our client operates in industries such as naval, civil nuclear, and other high-integrity sectors. If you are passionate about simulation-driven engineering, we want to hear from you. Responsibilities:

Develop and execute CFD simulations using tools like ANSYS Fluent, STAR-CCM, and OpenFOAM to model complex fluid flow and heat transfer systems. Lead system-level modeling, performance analysis, and optimization across multi-component assemblies. Translate simulation data into actionable design improvements in structure, materials, and manufacturing processes. Support R&D and engineering teams with validation, testing, and continuous improvement of products.

Experience:

Hands-on experience with CFD software (preferably ANSYS Fluent, STAR-CCM, OpenFOAM, or similar). Strong understanding of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and mechanical systems, ideally with experience in marine, nuclear, or aerospace sectors. Ability to interpret simulation results to inform technical decisions. Effective communicator and collaborator in cross-disciplinary teams.
