Freelance Chartered Structural Engineer – High-Rise Residential (London)

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Freelance Chartered Structural Engineer (CEng) to support a range of high-rise residential projects across London. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to complex, large-scale developments at various stages – from concept design through to construction.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead structural design and analysis for high-rise residential buildings

* Review and approve structural drawings, calculations, and reports

* Conduct site inspections and advise on structural matters during construction

* Collaborate with architects, developers, and contractors

* Ensure designs comply with UK building regulations, Eurocodes, and relevant standards

* Provide expert input on value engineering and buildability

Requirements:

* Chartered Engineer (CEng MICE or MIStructE)

* Strong experience in high-rise residential structures (RC frame essential)

* Proficient in structural design software (e.g. Tekla, ETABS, Robot, Tedds)

* Excellent communication and client-facing skills

* Based in or able to travel regularly within London
