Chartered Structural Engineer Leicester

A respected and well-established Structural and Civil Engineering Consultancy, recognised for its commitment to delivering high-quality, practical and creative design solutions, is seeking a Chartered Structural Engineer to join its expanding team in Leicester. This role represents an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to play a key role in the design and delivery of a broad range of projects across multiple sectors.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the conceptual, preliminary and detailed design of Structural schemes, contributing technical expertise to projects within the residential, commercial, industrial, heritage, and infrastructure sectors, including the design of bridges and other specialist Structural forms. A thorough understanding of advanced analysis techniques will be essential, including the application of finite element modelling to assess non-linear behaviour, second-order (P-Delta) effects, and loading scenarios such as seismic or blast events.

Duties will include the preparation of comprehensive Structural specifications, coordination with Civil and architectural disciplines, and ensuring that all design work is robust, economical, and reflective of the practice's emphasis on sustainability, resilience and innovation. The successful applicant will be expected to manage projects from inception to completion, maintaining control over programme, quality and cost, while fostering strong relationships with clients, collaborators, and regulatory bodies.

In addition to technical responsibilities, the role will involve leading internal design reviews, supervising CAD/Revit technicians, mentoring junior members of staff, and overseeing the quality assurance of deliverables. The ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both in writing and in person, will be essential in ensuring a high standard of client engagement and service delivery. A proactive approach to business development and work winning will be expected as part of the wider strategic growth of the practice.

Candidates must hold Chartered status (such as MIStructE or equivalent) and demonstrate substantial experience in Structural Engineering design and project leadership. A strong technical background, excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to ongoing professional development are essential.

This is an opportunity to become part of a forward-thinking, collaborative practice with a long-standing reputation for technical excellence, creative thinking, and a supportive working culture. The successful candidate will join a team that is passionate about engineering and dedicated to delivering innovative, value-led solutions across a diverse range of projects.
