Chief Engineer – Full Time – Wilmslow

We are looking for an experienced Chief Engineer to join our Estates team. You’ll be part of a team with a unique sense of purpose, one that makes a difference every day and helps improve lives. From carrying out essential maintenance to keeping our site running safely, you’ll play a vital role in delivering exceptional care through outstanding estates management. Immediate start available.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee delivery of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules to keep the site safe and efficient
  • Manage contracts, liaising with external contractors, raising bookings and supervising their work on-site
  • Carry out regular site inspections, ensuring plant rooms, building systems and fabric are maintained to high standards
  • Respond to issues as they arise, making the area safe and arranging for specialist attendance where required
  • Monitor and operate BMS systems to maintain energy efficiency and address faults
  • Attend and lead monthly meetings with estates and facilities teams, providing updates on compliance and contractor performance
  • Take responsibility for compliance, health and safety, statutory checks and records across the site
  • Support and mentor engineers, ensuring safe systems of work and consistent quality

About you

  • Strong experience in estates management, facilities or engineering leadership
  • Hands-on technical knowledge with confidence in PPM, compliance and contractor management
  • Familiar with operating and troubleshooting BMS systems
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to lead a team effectively
  • Proactive problem solver who can respond quickly to urgent issues and keep the site running smoothly
