We have an opening for a Chief Engineer to join our existing team at HMNB Clyde based in Faslane. The role of the Chief Engineer is to support the Tug Masters with all matters pertaining to engineering and electrical operation, maintenance and defect rectification providing maximum usage and time at operational readiness.

What You’ll Need To Do The Job

  • Ch. Eng minimum CoC NOT LESS THAN 6000Kw, ideally 9000Kw.
  • In date ENG1
  • Any requisite certification and qualification to fulfil the primary role of the selected individual
  • Basic Level Management / Leadership training or demonstrable equivalence.
  • Proven history of operating has a singleton in charge. This can be via CV and will be covered during interview
  • Interpersonal skills to deal with Management & Customer
  • Knowledge of SMS and the ISM Code
  • IT awareness
  • Health and Safety awareness
  • Marine Industry Background
  • Understanding of a planned maintenance System (such as AMOS)

Please note there is an opportunity to live onboard for this role or go home on occasions during on shift if within recall criteria, food and travel is not provided
