About The Role
We are looking for a hands-on, experienced Senior Engineer to join us at an exciting time of growth. Starting with responsibility for ARK Canary Wharf and ARK Wembley, and reporting into the Director of Property Management & Compliance, this role will be pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of all building systems and amenities.
This is a sole contributor role there are no direct reports but the Senior Engineer will play a key part in shaping how engineering is delivered across our portfolio, as we continue to expand and build a wider in-house engineering team.

Youll be the person who keeps the building running behind the scenes ensuring everything from the gym and pool to the heating and hot water systems are safe, reliable, and maintained to the highest standard.
As we scale, this role sets the tone for how our engineering and maintenance model is delivered across all current and future ARK properties. Your attention to detail, proactive mindset, and pride in your work will directly shape how residents experience life at ARK and will help us deliver on our promise of beautiful living, brilliantly run.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver all planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works across mechanical and fabric systems (excluding electrical, which remains with an external provider)
ct as the engineering lead at ARK Canary Wharf and ARK Wembley, ensuring the highest standards of maintenance, safety, and resident experience
Maintain all resident-facing amenities, including wellness studio, gym, sauna, and swimming pool; communal kitchens, lounges, coworking spaces, and cinema rooms
Ensure optimal operation and upkeep of all mechanical plant, HVAC, water services, drainage, and internal finishes
Ensure all statutory compliance, routine inspections, and building safety checks are completed and recorded
Coordinate and liaise with specialist contractors (e.g. fire safety, lifts, electrical, water treatment)
Respond promptly to reactive works, ensuring minimal disruption to residents
Use ARKs CAFM system to log tasks, keep asset records updated, and manage PPM schedules
Support the mobilisation of new sites, contributing to service setup, documentation reviews, and technical handover processes
Work closely with the wider property, compliance, and community teams to maintain a high-quality, safe, and resident-friendly environment
What Were Looking For
Strong mechanical/building services background with a multi-skilled approach
Proven experience in a residential, co-living, hotel, or hospitality environment
Recognised technical qualification (e.g. City & Guilds Level 3, NVQ, or equivalent)
Deep understanding of HVAC, water systems, drainage, and fabric maintenance
Strong attention to detail and the ability to take ownership of building performance
Comfortable working independently and managing multiple sites
Good communication skills and a proactive, problem-solving mindset
Tech-confident, able to use CAFM and mobile reporting systems
Desirable Skills & Experience
Experience with pool plant and wellness facilities
Familiarity with new build mobilisation and post-completion technical checks
Understanding of water hygiene, fire safety systems, and energy efficiency
IOSH or equivalent health and safety certification
