Civil Design Engineer

Wigan, Lancashire.

£45,000 - £55,000 (DOE) + Benefits

I'm working with a well-established, independent civil & structural engineering consultancy who are looking to bring a talented Civil Design Engineer into their growing team. This is a practice with a strong track record in delivering high-quality residential development infrastructure across the UK - from compact private housing schemes to large-scale mixed-use masterplans.

You'll be stepping into a key role, taking responsibility for the full civil design package for residential schemes - including highways, drainage, external levels, and plot drainage - from feasibility through to approvals and construction.

What you'll be doing as a Civil Design Engineer:

Delivering detailed designs for highways and drainage on residential projects.

Producing external levels and plot drainage designs independently.

Carrying out site appraisals and drainage feasibility studies.

Preparing and reviewing Flood Risk Assessments.

Managing Section 38 & Section 104 applications and guiding them through the approvals process.

Liaising with LLFA in England and SAB within Wales.

Working confidently in AutoCAD, Causeway PDS, and Causeway Flow.

What you'll bring:

Minimum 5 years' design office experience.

Strong all-round technical capability in residential civils design.

Confidence to take projects from concept to completion.

Excellent working knowledge of relevant approval processes and design standards.

Ability to communicate effectively with clients, local authorities, and colleagues.Why join them?
