Our client, a renowned family-run classic car restoration specialist based in Alton, Hampshire, is seeking a talented Classic Car Engineer to help bring timeless masterpieces back to life. This full-time, permanent role offers an exciting opportunity to work on pre-1980s, post-war era classics, combining expertise with enthusiasm to ensure each vehicle is restored to the highest standards. ResponsibilitiesCarefully disassemble classic cars, handling each component with precision and care, recognising their fragile nature.Reassemble vehicles meticulously, ensuring flawless fitment without issues that could compromise quality.Apply engineering skills to reinforce or design brackets and components as needed, contributing to structural integrity.Collaborate with a passionate team focused on delivering quality over speed, respecting the artistry of vintage restorations. Required SkillsProven experience as a Motor Engineer or Classic Car Restorer, with hands-on skills in dismantling and reassembling vintage vehicles.Strong understanding of automotive engineering principles, especially related to reinforcement and repair of classic car components.Ability to work gently and precisely to prevent damage during restoration processes.Enthusiasm for classic cars, with a background that demonstrates both passion and expertise. Nice to Have SkillsExperience designing brackets or structural reinforcements.Knowledge of specific restoration techniques for vehicles from the pre-1980s era.Familiarity with period-appropriate materials and standards. Education and ExperienceRelevant vocational or engineering qualifications in automotive technology or a related field.Previous experience working on vintage or classic cars, ideally from the post-war period.A genuine passion for preserving automotive history, coupled with practical engineering skills. Other RequirementsCommitment to quality craftsmanship, valuing meticulous work over haste.Willing to work in a small team trying to keep to customer timelines where possible.
