Overview
BARBRI is seeking a talented and experienced Cloud Engineer to join our Technology Operations Team in our Dallas, TX or Eagan, MN office. This position is a Hybrid schedule with 2-3 days in the office.
Position Summary
The Cloud Engineer is a full-time position, working closely with other engineers, architects, and software developers to create and maintain Azure resources. Candidates should have experience delivering applications in a 24x7x365 production environment, as well as an understanding of high-availability, scalability, and DevOps.
Responsibilities
- Create application and infrastructure deployment pipelines.
- Create and maintain documentation for administrators and stakeholders.
- Configure and support application monitoring and alerting systems.
- Contribute to and occasionally lead discussions regarding architecture and design.
- Work with the team to automate management tasks, streamline processes and perform standard administration functions as needed.
- Configure and support Azure cloud infrastructure - including compute, network, and storage.
- Mentor and assist other members of the cloud engineering team.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years working experience with the following concepts and technologies in a production environment:
- Containerization
- Docker
- Kubernetes
- Nginx
- DevOps (ADO and GitHub Actions a plus)
- Microsoft PaaS offerings, including Functions and App Services
- Application Observability Tools (Insights, New Relic, Dynatrace, etc.)
- Agile Development framework
- Linux and Windows server operating systems
- Azure FrontDoor and Application Gateways
- IaC utilizing Bicep
- Experience as a cloud technology SME or lead engineer.
- 5+ years administrating a production Azure cloud environment.
- 5+ years supporting production applications.
- Must be able to work independently and be self-motivated.
- Able to work in a fast-paced, team environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desired Qualifications
- Development experience a plus.
- Experience with the following technologies a plus:
- Azure data technologies such as Data Factory, Data Lake, Synapse, Fabric, AzureSQL, Azure Database for MySQL/PostgreSQL, Azure Redis, and Azure Cosmos DB.
- Azure OpenAI Service and other AI development technologies.
