Who we are looking for

Charles River Development is seeking an experienced Cloud Platform Engineer. The successful candidate will automate and streamline operations, build and maintain deployment, monitoring, and operational tools, and troubleshoot issues in development, test, and production environments. Proficiency with Kubernetes, container orchestration, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms is essential. Familiarity with the software development lifecycle and modern DevOps tools and practices is also required.

Why this role is important to us

The team is part of Charles River Development (CRD), acquired by State Street in 2018. CRD develops enterprise investment management software for large institutions in investment, wealth management, and hedge funds. We launched the first open front-to-back platform, State Street Alpha, in 2019.

What you will be responsible for

• Designing, building, and maintaining the Kubernetes platform for container orchestration.
• Collaborating with development teams to architect scalable and resilient applications.
• Ensuring platform and application reliability, scalability, and security.
• Performing operational tasks such as upgrades and patching.
• Automating tasks with scripting languages like Python, Bash, or Shell.
• Developing CI/CD pipelines for deployment on Kubernetes.
• Monitoring platform and application health using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.
• Assisting with capacity planning and load testing.
• Developing best practices for container-based applications.
• Troubleshooting platform issues and collaborating with development teams.
• Staying updated on industry trends and technologies.

Education & Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Kubernetes Platform Engineer or similar DevOps role.
• Deep knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker.
• Experience with Azure cloud platform.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Argo CD, Jenkins.
• Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack.
• Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash).
• Ability to troubleshoot complex networking issues.
• BSc in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Additional requirements

Experience working across multiple public clouds.
