CNC Maintenance Engineer
About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and motivated CNC Maintenance Engineer to join a specialist engineering service provider supporting high-level precision engineering firms. This is a field-based role, primarily covering Central England, with occasional overnight stays required.
You will be responsible for the maintenance, service, and repair of CNC machine tools across a variety of customer sites. From breakdown repairs to turret realignments or full spindle removals, this is a hands-on, problem-solving role ideal for someone who enjoys getting stuck in and keeping machines running.
CNC Maintenance Engineer
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose and repair mechanical and minor electrical issues on CNC machine tools
* Perform routine maintenance and servicing on a wide range of CNC machines
* Carry out tasks such as turret realignment, spindle extraction, and general machine tool fitting
* Attend customer sites across the region to respond to breakdowns and service calls
* Ensure all work is completed to a high standard with attention to detail and customer satisfaction
* Complete job reports and communicate effectively with both the internal team and customers
* Work flexible hours when required to complete jobs, including overtime and occasional overnight stays

About You
We’re open to a variety of backgrounds for the right candidate. Ideally, you’ll have experience in CNC machine maintenance or machine tool fitting, but if you’re a time-served machinist or fitter with strong mechanical knowledge, training can be provided.
Essential:
* Strong mechanical engineering background
* Hands-on experience with CNC machines (either operation or maintenance)
* Willingness to travel and stay overnight when required
* Full UK driving licence
* Ability to work independently and problem-solve under pressure
Desirable:
* Experience in CNC machine maintenance or servicing
* Machine tool fitting or mechanical breakdown repair experience
* Knowledge of a range of CNC brands and models
