Description:
Our client — a precision manufacturer recognized for quality craftsmanship and advanced machining — is seeking a CNC Manufacturing Engineer to join their growing team. This is a key technical role responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC manufacturing processes to ensure top-tier efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
You’ll collaborate closely with design engineers, machinists, and quality teams to support production goals, drive process improvements, and enhance manufacturing capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and optimize CNC machining processes, including tooling, fixtures, and programming for multi-axis CNC machines.
Create and refine CNC programs using CAD/CAM software (SolidWorks, Esprit, NX, or equivalent) while ensuring compliance with product specifications and quality standards.
Analyze workflows to identify opportunities for improved productivity, reduced cycle times, and minimized waste.
Partner with design engineering to ensure manufacturability and provide DFM input during new product development.
Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis efforts, implementing corrective actions to resolve production issues.
Evaluate and recommend CNC equipment, tooling, and technology upgrades to support operational goals.
Develop and maintain process documentation such as work instructions, setup sheets, and SOPs.
Train and mentor CNC operators and team members in best practices, process improvement, and quality standards.
Champion Lean Manufacturing initiatives, including 5S, Six Sigma, and Kaizen projects.
Ensure all manufacturing processes adhere to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in CNC machining and process engineering.
Advanced proficiency in CNC programming, setup, and operation — including probe and macro programming.
Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (SolidWorks, Esprit, NX, or similar) and simulation tools like Vericut.
Strong understanding of multi-axis CNC machining (3-, 4-, and 5-axis mills; multi-axis mill-turn lathes).
Deep knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and blueprint reading.
Hands-on experience with metrology and measurement systems.
Solid foundation in Lean Manufacturing principles and process optimization.
Excellent analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
Experience with PC-DMIS CMM programming and/or automation engineering.
Background in firearms or precision component manufacturing.
Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (Epicor ).
Certifications such as Six Sigma Green Belt or experience with AS9100 / ISO 9001 standards.
