As an Experienced Commercial Solar PV Engineer (SolarEdge specialist and qualified electrician), you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of commercial-scale solar PV systems. A key focus will be working with SolarEdge inverters, optimizers, and monitoring platforms to ensure maximum system efficiency and reliability.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Install, test, and commission commercial solar PV systems to the highest standards.
• Lead and support electrical installations, ensuring compliance with BS 7671 and all relevant regulations.
• Work extensively with SolarEdge technology, including configuration, optimization, and fault-finding.
• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance, diagnosing issues quickly and effectively.
• Provide technical support and guidance to clients and junior team members.
• Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to industry best practice.

REQUIREMENTS

• Fully qualified electrician (NVQ Level 3, AM2, 18th Edition, ECS/CSCS card).
• PV and EESS/ 2922 & 2932 level 3 or equivalent.
• Proven experience in commercial solar PV installation and maintenance.
• Expert knowledge of SolarEdge inverters, optimizers, and monitoring systems.
• CSCS JIB Gold card.
• Strong understanding of grid connections, three-phase systems, and protection equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites.

DESIRABLE

• Experience with battery storage systems.
• Working on roofs.

The standard work hours are from 7:00 AM to 4:15 PM, Monday to Friday. However, hours may vary based on site-specific requirements and job needs. This role will require a hybrid work arrangement, with time split between the office and site locations.
