Commissioning Engineer

New Yesterday

Echelon Engineers are working with a cutting-edge engineering firm at the forefront of high-spec process plant innovation. We're supporting them in the final commissioning phase of a large-scale, custom-built system and they’re now urgently looking to bring on a hands-on Commissioning Engineer to help complete, test, and integrate the plant.
This is a practical, site-based role ideal for an experienced engineer who thrives in dynamic environments where they can roll up their sleeves and get stuck in.
As Commissioning Engineer, you’ll:
*
Support the mechanical and electrical assembly of heavy, custom-built equipment
*
Commission and troubleshoot systems involving pressure vessels, heaters, instrumentation, valves, and control systems
*
Interpret SolidWorks drawings and understand system-level design intent
*
Work alongside the engineering and maintenance teams to ensure smooth integration
*
Assist in producing and refining build and handover documentation
*
Ensure compliance with safety standards (e.g. ATEX, high-pressure systems)
We’re looking for someone who’s:
*
From a mechanical, electrical, or multi-disciplinary engineering background
*
Previously worked on pressure systems, high-temperature systems, or regulated industrial equipment
*
Comfortable building, wiring, troubleshooting, and making sense of complex systems
*
Able to interpret engineering drawings (SolidWorks experience useful but not essential)
*
Self-sufficient, proactive, and confident working in a small, stretched team
*
Experienced in high-integrity environments (nuclear, gas turbines, turbo machinery, etc.)
