  • Commission, test, and balance HVAC systems across a variety of commercial, industrial, and residential projects.
  • Perform initial system checks, troubleshoot technical issues on-site, and resolve problems efficiently.
  • Set up and fine-tune HVAC systems to optimise performance and efficiency.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth installation and commissioning processes.
  • Conduct air and water balancing, adjusting dampers, valves, and air handling units to meet set specifications.
  • Ensure all activities comply with relevant standards, regulations, and health and safety requirements.
  • Provide technical advice and support to clients and team members during commissioning stages.
  • Prepare detailed reports documenting commissioning activities, test results, and system configurations.
  • Identify opportunities for improvements to enhance system performance or reduce energy consumption.

You will have

To be successful as a HVAC Commissioning Engineer, you will have:

  • Proven experience in HVAC commissioning, with a strong technical background in chilled water, heating, ventilation, and ASHP/CHP systems.
  • Relevant qualifications such as CSA, NVQ Level 3 in HVAC, City & Guilds, or equivalent.
  • A solid understanding of industry standards including BSRIA, CIBSE, and safety regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or within a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and colleagues.
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to various sites across the South of England.
  • Health and safety awareness, committed to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Experience with HVAC commissioning tools and control software such as Trend or BMS systems is desirable.
  • Desirable: Knowledge of building management systems (BMS) and ability to mentor junior engineers.
