Commissioning Lead Engineer – Balance of Plant (BOP) We are seeking a Commissioning Lead Engineer (BOP) to oversee and drive the successful commissioning of Balance of Plant systems on our Energy-from-Waste (EfW) project at Skelton Grange, Leeds. Site: Skelton Grange Role: Commissioning Lead Engineer Start Date: 06/10/2025 ideally End Date: 30/11/2025 Type: Contractor – Agency

Key Responsibilities
Lead and ensure HSEQ compliance during all commissioning activities, actively promoting safety and risk mitigation across teams. Review and implement HSEQ requirements, ensuring practices follow RAMS and site standards. Oversee commissioning execution in line with contracts, schedules, budgets, and approved standards. Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, and external authorities to achieve safe, timely, and high-quality outcomes. Maintain accurate documentation, deliver regular progress reports, and capture lessons learned to support continuous improvement.

Compressors and dryers Conveying systems (belt and pneumatic) Weighbridges Water systems (treatment, cooling, distribution) Waste crane operations (preferred)

Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline). Proven experience leading commissioning activities within Energy-from-Waste (EfW) or comparable power/industrial projects. Strong knowledge of HSEQ practices and experience working under RAMS and site safety standards. Hands-on commissioning knowledge of Balance of Plant (BOP) equipment, including:
Compressors and dryers Conveying systems (belt and pneumatic) Weighbridges Water systems (treatment, cooling, distribution) Waste crane operations (preferred)
Excellent leadership, communication, and coordination skills with internal teams, subcontractors, and external authorities. Strong documentation, reporting, and problem-solving abilities.
Additional Information This is a contractor role for an experienced commissioning professional with EfW expertise, technical capability, and a commitment to delivering safe, high-quality, and on-time results.
