OverviewCommunications Specialist Engineer required for a leading systems integrator, supplier and installer of navigation systems based in Southampton. The ideal candidate will be an engineer with good knowledge and working experience of electronics, with familiarity in CCTV, Telecoms, Radio systems, Intercom and Public Address systems.ResponsibilitiesProvide engineering support tasks from repair/fault finding to board level, including soldering, and provide system design solutions.Involved in in-house assembly and production of such systems, from gathering product technical details to obtaining priced quotations from key suppliers and performing assembly and factory testing to ensure compliance with customer requirements.Collaborate with team members, assist with the purchasing process of items, and share information across the project.Ideally have CAD drawing experience, familiarity with preparing technical drawings, system handbook documentation, and identifying product obsolescence with management of the latter.Act in a technical role with end users, providing telephone and email support.Develop relations with the supply chain and participate in installation and commissioning of systems, ideally within a maritime/offshore environment but not essential.Position RequirementsProactive and positive attitudeA passion for problem solvingGood communication skillsAbility to remain calm and focused under pressureAvailability to travel (sometimes on short notice)MotivatedKnowledge of the Marine industry (Commercial or Naval)Operating and/or Maintenance knowledge of Marine ElectronicsExperience in setting to work Navigation and Communications systemsCandidates should have a full UK driving licence and their own vehicleRemunerationSalary £35,000- £60,000 (depending on experience)Opportunity for overtimeFlexible hours and a friendly but professional atmosphereAbout the recruitment process: Bennett and Game Recruitment are a multi-disciplined technical recruitment agency based in Chichester, West Sussex, operating across the UK with specialist teams covering a range of industries.
