Overview

Treatment Studio, an award-winning creative studio in Borough, London, is looking for a highly organised Computer Systems Engineer to join our team.

We offer an exciting opportunity to support our fast-paced, multidisciplinary design and production practice, specialising in experiences for live music tours, festivals, art installations, experiential spaces, branding campaigns, and theatrical productions.

About the role

The ideal candidate will be good humoured, switched on and able to undertake a variety of office support tasks, with an attitude where nothing is too much trouble. This person will be comfortable working with a high degree of attention to detail and discretion as well as incorporating new and effective ways to achieve better results. The role requires an independent and thorough work ethic, with the ability to provide clear and concise communication and direction.

Day to day responsibilities

  • Responsible for all day-to-day hardware configuration and maintenance
  • Responsible for implementing operating system and select software roll-outs across hardware
  • Responsible for Level 3 switch management and for documenting and organising all network topology
  • Organising all hardware assets and operating system licenses
  • Scheduled preventative maintenance on all systems including coordinating OS updates with IT Manager
  • Working knowledge of how to manage hardware assets in a way that is non-disruptive to the work-flow of the studio and coordinates all system changes and updates with IT Manager
  • Extensive knowledge of computer hardware designs and builds including NAS/SAN architecture and network hardware topology
  • Have a solid understanding of power and cooling infrastructure for advanced computer systems and be able to consult with experts on those topics with fluidity
  • Ability to think strategically and forward plan for both wider studio and project by project hardware needs
  • Familiarity with cyber security best practices and an understanding of common threats and vulnerabilities.

An understanding or interest in working in the following programmes

  • Unreal
  • Unity
  • VFX Supervision
  • Projection Design
  • Code writing and development
  • VR creation and development
  • Experience with full Adobe suite

Nice to have

  • Experience in Amazon Web Services (AWS), EC2, and Python
  • Understanding of media servers and processes eg: Disguise (formerly D3) or Touch Designer and Notch workflows
  • Keen interest in progressive platforms and enhancements in the video content creation and design fields
  • Experience setting up Virtual Machines
  • Experience with Thinkbox Deadline 10
  • Experience with AWS and AWS Deadline Cloud (and other cloud renderers)

Schedule

This is a full-time, in-house role, and you\'ll be part of our Borough, London office. You will be required to work on-site Monday to Friday, and some occasional travel will be necessary.
