OverviewConstruction Mechanical Supervisor/Engineer – Aldermaston, Berkshire, RG7 4PR. Full-Time role with salary up to £52,000 per annum plus pension. Location: RG7 4PR, between Reading and Basingstoke, with free onsite parking.At AWE, this role supports the Construction Manager in ensuring the successful planning and delivery of construction projects, including a significant UK-leading multi-million-pound forward build programme of new facilities and associated infrastructure.ResponsibilitiesEnsure installation works by Contractors are undertaken to appropriate and specified quality standards (inspection and verification).Maintain daily site diary detailing site conditions, progress and available resources throughout the construction phase.Provide input to weekly reports including site safety inspections, quality control, inspection & test plans, and defect notices.Assist in the preparation and review of pre-construction information such as SSOW/RAMS.Qualifications and ExperienceTechnical and site experience within the construction/build environment with a proven track record in supervising construction work.Industry standard construction/build environment qualification aligned to the discipline/specialism.SSSTS & CSCS (relevant level) or suitable equivalent.Membership of an appropriate professional institution (desirable).Good understanding of current construction Health, Safety and Environmental Legislation/Regulations, in particular compliance with the 2015 Construction Design and Management Regulations.Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance.Skills and AttributesAbility to work calmly and constructively in a priority-changing environment and manage your own workload.Initiative, enthusiasm, flexibility, and ability to work to tight deadlines.Strong work ethic and commitment to delivering high standards.Benefits9-day working fortnight with every other Friday off, plus 270 hours of annual leave.Market-leading contributory pension scheme (9%–13% of pensionable pay based on your contributions).Family-friendly policies (Maternity Leave – 39 weeks full pay; Paternity Leave – 4 weeks full pay).Opportunities for Professional Career Development including funding for annual membership of a relevant professional body.Employee Assistance Programme and Occupational Health Services.Life Assurance (4 x annual salary).Discounts on a wide range of everyday spending and a Special Leave Policy for volunteering, public service, and caring.Next stepsWe recognise that great people bring unique skills and perspectives.
