Construction Methods Engineer - London
An international energy infrastructure project is seeking an experienced Construction Methods Engineer to support fabrication and construction planning for a major carbon capture development. This role focuses on developing and implementing safe, efficient construction methodologies and ensuring alignment with HSE, quality, and productivity standards across project phases.
The role will be offered on a 12 month renewable contract, working 37.5 hours per week in Kingston-upon-Thames, paying a day rate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and review construction methods and procedures, ensuring alignment with project requirements and international standards.
- Oversee draftsmen and external subcontractors during planning and execution phases.
- Coordinate with project teams, construction and subcontracting departments, and client representatives.
- Participate in technical bid evaluations and support early EPC phase planning activities.
- Conduct site visits, supervise complex operations, and manage site-based construction engineering tasks when required.
- Lead or contribute to risk assessments, constructability reviews, and HSE planning sessions.
- Define optimal construction sequences, layouts, modularization strategies, and feasibility studies.
- Act as Constructability Coordinator or Construction Engineer during bid, conceptual, and execution phases.
- Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to lessons-learned capture for continuous improvement.
- Degree-qualified in Engineering (mechanical, civil, structural, or relevant discipline).
- Prior experience in construction methods within the offshore oil & gas, industrial, or energy sector.
- Strong technical knowledge of construction methodologies, erection strategies, and productivity-focused practices.
- Familiarity with constructability and HSE integration during engineering and planning.
- Comfortable working in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment, including travel to fabrication yards or project sites.
- Strong interpersonal and documentation skills; proactive and quality-driven.
