As our Senior Engineer, you'll join our Engineering Manufacture group with a focus on costing and estimation. This is a full-time role based in Teddington. You will develop and apply advanced knowledge, techniques, and technology, making a tangible impact on our business and the UK. Your passion for your expertise will drive continuous learning and knowledge sharing within the team.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal customers and the design team to understand requirements and ensure successful delivery.
- Support design and project activities, advise on Design for Manufacture, and contribute to project governance such as Manufacturing Readiness Reviews.
- Assess manufacturing projects using your engineering manufacturing and estimating expertise, working from CAD models, drawings, and specifications to produce manufacturing plans, cost estimates, budgets, and schedules.
- Develop detailed methods for manufacturing bespoke or low batch number mechanical projects in a research environment.
- Work with manufacturing technicians to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
- Maintain relationships with key subcontractors.
- We operate a hybrid working model, combining remote and on-site work, with an emphasis on work-life balance. Due to the role\'s requirements, you will spend most of your time on-site in Teddington.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in resource assessment for manufacturing projects, including operations, labor, tooling, materials, and subcontractors.
- Experience with estimating and costing techniques.
- Knowledge of various manufacturing methods, including CNC and conventional machining, CAD / CAM programming, and materials.
- Strong people management skills to work across functions and influence teams.
- Excellent communication skills for presenting complex information.
- Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and production control / MRP systems.
- Knowledge of electrical and electronics manufacturing / assembly is advantageous.
