Our client are a precision manufacturing business, based in Birmingham, specialising in machining and assembly of high value low volume components who are looking for a continuous Improvement Engineer.
The Role is a Continuous Improvement Engineer within a Manufacturing Engineering team, you’ll drive projects to enhance our manufacturing processes.
The role covers:
- Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) activities
- Product safety and quality
- Planning, cost, and capacity management
- Lean improvements and efficiency projects
- Self-development and supporting talent growth
- Stakeholder management
Key Responsibilities:
- Improve manufacturing methods, processes, and capabilities to meet design intent.
- Promote a culture of zero defects, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations.
- Identify and deliver manufacturing improvements to reduce costs using lean methodology.
- Lead and support continuous improvement projects, including 8D investigations.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing methods to deliver safety, quality, cost, and on-time delivery objectives.
- Identify and implement new technologies, digital systems, or processes to support future needs.
- Build strong internal relationships to support delivery of business objectives.
Skills & Experience:
- Degree or time-served apprenticeship in an Engineering discipline.
- Experience in precision manufacturing environments, including use of Lean tools.
- Knowledge of manufacturing systems, machining, assembly, testing, and CNC machine tools.
- Strong problem-solving ability and familiarity with root cause analysis tools.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
- Experience in Nuclear/Defence industries and knowledge of relevant standards (desirable)
