The opportunity:
Working in our Continuous Improvement team, you will support Assembly Operations in the delivery of complex systems to UK and international customers. While driving waste reduction, you will also collaborate across multiple business functions, ensuring all stakeholders are aligned with ongoing improvement initiatives.
You will provide leadership, direction and support across Assembly Operations at all levels of the organisation.
As a CI Team member your main responsibilities will involve:
- Manage the CI programme for an allocated business unit
- Eliminate waste from manufacturing processes
- Lead the development and implementation of business metrics and reporting systems
- Set up, support, and govern CI reviews to ensure they are robust and sustainable
- Develop and deliver Continuous Improvement plans
- Support root cause analysis for externally supplied components
- Reduce quality issues such as concessions, rework and non-conformances using structured approaches (8D, PDCA, DMAIC, etc.)
- Implement process controls and enhance process capability
- Establish and maintain standard work foundations for business processes
- Facilitate improvement activities across the manufacturing facility
- Provide technical expertise in Lean toolsets and change management
What we're looking for from you:
- A genuine passion for Continuous Improvement
- Experience working in or supporting fast-paced production environments
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to influence teams beyond your direct reports
- Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders
- Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma methodologies, and the 7 Quality Tools
- Experience leading practical problem-solving exercises with multi-functional teams
- Capability in using structured data analysis approaches
- Ability to manage improvement projects from concept to completion
- Sound understanding of manufacturing, logistical, and engineering processes
