Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Java Developer to join a large-scale legacy platform modernisation project. This is a contract opportunity ideal for a hands-on engineer with deep Java expertise and a passion for clean, scalable engineering.

You will be part of a dedicated feature team responsible for the conversion and migration of legacy applications, working closely with stakeholders to design and deliver robust, cloud-based solutions. This role combines strong practical software engineering and a sharp focus on quality and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Work on end-to-end migration of legacy application repositories.
• Design and build scalable, high-performance solutions using Java and Spring Boot.
• Execute modernisation strategies aligned with business needs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior developers.
• Troubleshoot technical challenges and ensure timely, quality delivery.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Java Developer with knowledge of Spring frameworks.
• Strong background in legacy system migration, ETL processes, and modern software architecture.
• Expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and low-latency systems.
• Proficiency in cloud services.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and best practices.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
• Exposure to modernisation at scale and cloud-native technologies.
