Overview

Contract Software Engineer (Python, React, AWS) – 6 months inside IR35. Day rate: £600-£650. Location: Manchester, England, United Kingdom. We are seeking an experienced contract software engineer to join Codurance's team to work with Python backend, React frontend, and AWS services on client projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop backend services in Python (Django or similar) and frontend in React.
• Design and implement scalable systems and data models with relational databases.
• Work with AWS services (SNS, SQS, EKS, S3) and Kubernetes tooling (kubectl, k9s).
• Assist with production deployments and CI/CD pipelines (CodeFresh or similar).
• Update Helm charts and Terraform configurations as needed.
• Possibly join a support rota for one week out of eight with additional compensation.

Qualifications

• Essential: Strong experience with Python backend services and React; Django or similar; relational databases and data modeling; AWS services; Kubernetes tooling; scalable system design; production deployments and CI/CD; Helm and Terraform; OpenSearch or Elasticsearch.
• Nice to have: Kotlin programming experience.
• Strong knowledge of architecture and development patterns (e.g., Microservices, CQRS, Domain-Driven Design, Event Sourcing); good development practices (TDD, pair programming, CI/CD).
