A little background on our Control System Team:Haskoning have a dedicated Control system team specialising in providing expert technical advice to our global leading markets.We specialise in the feasibility, design, and specification of Building Management Systems (BMS) and Power Management Systems (PMS) within Mission Critical Data Centres.What you will do as Controls Engineer:In this versatile and dynamic role, you will produce the Control System design scopes on global data centre projects. Projects include both greenfield and brownfield projects.Duties will include:Development of the Control PhilosophyUndertake condition surveys of existing control systems and associated control instrumentation.Prepare survey reports that detail non-compliance with legislation and operational improvements required.Determination of the best design approach based on technical and commercial constraints.Supporting development of system architectures for industrial environments, including greenfield & brownfield C&I upgrades,Prepare designs for Control Systems from initial concepts through to developed designs.Prepare performance specifications.Prepare and assemble tender packages.Preparation of design deliverables including drawings, schedules, and datasheetsCollaborate with project stakeholders to find the best technical solutions.Collaborate with our Revit Technicians to develop the associated 3D Revit model to meet the project requirements.Co-ordination the Control Systems scopes with other engineering disciplines.Location:The role will be based in our Newcastle office but will be hybrid in nature, incorporating office and home working.As our team is located throughout the UK travel between offices will be required to meet the project demands. The role may also require occasional travel to client offices / project sites both in the UK and overseas.This role might be right for you if you have:Experience within the datacentres industry or a similar industryExperience with one or more of the following Control Systems:Building Management Systems (BMS)Power Management Systems (PMS)Supervisory Control & Data Acquisition (SCADA)Field Instrumentation selection and specificationExperience with the development of design packages across the different stages of the design processExperience one or more of the following standards:ISO 22237 –Information technology Data centre facilities and infrastructuresEN 50600 - Data Centre CertificationIEC 61850 - Power Management SystemIEC 61508 - Functional safety of electrical / electronic / programmable electronicIEC 61511 - Functional Safety: Safety Instrumented Systems for the ProcessExperience in standard Microsoft packages: Words, Excel, etc.Experience Autodesk products (viewing / mark ups)Understanding of the importance of project timescales and budgets, reports progress and hours promptly and accurately.Good interpersonal and teamwork skillsExcellent written and verbal communication, organisational, analytical and time management skills.About Haskoning:At Haskoning, you will join an independent, employee-owned international consultancy that combines engineering, design, and consultancy services with software and technology.
