What You'll Be Doing
As part of our core engineering team, you'll:
Lead high-impact projects - manage controls and automation projects worth £1M+ from concept to completion, delivering them safely, on time and on budget. Collaborate across teams - work alongside production, maintenance, engineering and leadership to deliver solutions that drive performance. Push innovation forward - bring fresh ideas that enhance plant efficiency, sustainability and automation capability. Champion safety & quality - embed a culture of Zero Accidents and continuous improvement, ensuring every project meets Ford's exacting standards.
What We're Looking For
We're after someone who's not just technically skilled - but passionate about progress. Ideally, you'll bring:
A degree (or equivalent experience) in electrical engineering or controls. ️ Hands-on experience managing automation/controls projects end-to-end. Strong PLC programming skills - Siemens Step-7, TIA Portal and related systems. Familiarity with ABB, Fanuc, UR robotics, electromechanical systems, vision systems and MPN. Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, Eplan, and project management tools. ⚡ HV/LV electrical distribution knowledge and experience with building management systems. ️ Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder-management skills.
