OverviewThe purpose of this role is delivering Element networking projects such as major site overhauls, integrations, and global connectivity efforts. The role will provide 2nd and 3rd line network operational support along with mentorship/guidance of Element’s Global Network team.ResponsibilitiesProject design, deployment, and service introduction for Element initiatives3rd level operational support and maintenance of Element’s global networkMonitoring core systems for effectiveness and proactive maintenanceEfficient and effective management of 3rd line incidents resulting in successful and timely resolution meeting Element business SLAsBuild and maintain strong relationships with Core Engineering network team as well as both internal customers and external partnersOperational support for acquisitions and integrationsCollaborate and support technical initiatives with Core Engineering Network Technical LeaderSkills / QualificationsBroad technical knowledge and deep experience supporting and troubleshooting Cisco platforms including, but not limited to, Cisco switches, Cisco FTD firewalls, and Meraki platformsEffective team player and strong ability to work unsupervisedExperience in managing and troubleshooting networking protocols (IPSEC, BGP, OSPF, FHRP, WLAN solutions, QoS, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VLANs, STP technologies and Ethernet switching solutions) across multiple platforms deployed in the Element network estateStrong experience in managing and troubleshooting firewalls e.g. SonicWall, Fortinet, Cisco FTDStrong experience in Network monitoring and management tools, such as ZabbixDisplay technical credibility, independent judgment, and decision-making experience on networking mattersAbility to overcome challenges in remote working such as overseas locations, cultural differences, and split time-zones to ensure positive interactionsExcellent communication and customer-facing skillsExcellent problem-solving and analytical skills when determining the impact of network issues quickly, combined with sound decision-making skills under pressureDemonstrate planning, documentation, and organizational skillsExperience in delivery using IT infrastructure management best practices & standards, ITIL / ITSM principles and practices, and change management in large environmentsDemonstrate understanding of IT security issues in global network environmentsCompany OverviewElement is one of the fastest growing testing, inspection and certification businesses in the world.
