Overview
In this role you will be responsible for the development and validation of cryogenic systems to meet customer requirements.
You will need to generate an in depth understanding of market applications and produce concept designs to meet those applications. This will include producing specifications and concept costing, design for risk and risk mitigation, as well as contributing to the safety design and verification testing. You will also be required to produce detailed design guidance and test documentation for complex projects. Providing technical support to manufacturing, our sales and service teams and customers also forms part of this role.
Responsibilities
- Develop and validate cryogenic systems to meet customer requirements.
- Generate understanding of market applications and produce concept designs.
- Produce specifications and concept costing; design for risk and risk mitigation; contribute to safety design and verification testing.
- Produce detailed design guidance and test documentation for complex projects.
- Provide technical support to manufacturing, sales, service teams and customers.
Qualifications
- Experience in cryogenics and ultra-low temperature systems; understanding of applications and design features of complex integrated systems.
- Degree or PhD in a relevant engineering or science discipline.
- Experience in cryogenic design, ideally with knowledge of liquid helium refrigeration and related techniques.
- Experience in design and modelling of cryogenic heat exchangers and analysis of complex cryogenic systems.
- Experience in verification and validation methods and design of experiments.
- Ideally experience with FMEA, risk analysis and HazOp.
- Ability to work well in a team, resolve technical issues and meet deadlines.
